[ It takes about two minutes after getting his face slathered with some new face mask that requires him to sit around for an hour while it sets for Felix to get bored. And once he's bored, he looks for entertainment. His anon friend gets the short stick. ]

[ Honestly, he's not expecting to hear from Felix again. So when that burner phone goes off while he's brushing out a golden retriever named Lucky, it surprises him. ]

Same thing you got. Grape leaves and meat on a stick. Plus a YEE-ROW. I know it's spelled gyro but that's how it's pronounced. Apparently. And maybe some of that pie with the nuts and honey.

Which is a lot, I know. But I spent eight hours in a chair getting a tattoo beforehand, so I was starving.

What is the tattoo of? Must be large if it took that long.

It's not really a picture. It's a design that sort of looks like fire maybe. Guy called it tribal, but I don't know which tribe it's supposed to be. It's only about halfway done. I need to go back next week for the rest of it.

So far. Christ, I hope I don't hate it later. But it's like, I didn't get one before because I was stupid, trying to be someone else for somebody, and because in my line of work distinguishing marks were a bad idea. Things are different now. And it's kind of symbolic.

Did I tell you how I died? It was part grenade and part a really fucking long fall. So the arm that took the grenade blast, it's like a big fuck you to the fire. I got my own. Is that stupid? Maybe that's stupid. But it looks pretty badass.

[ Ah, yes. Now they're back in the territory of Locus being uncomfortable that he's getting these kinds of things from Felix. He really needs to just get rid of this and forget it all happened or just fess up. ]

[ Except he doesn't wait for the promise. Just rolls up his sleeve and snaps a picture. The angle's a mess, so half of his green mud-covered face fills up the side of the picture. But most of his shoulder and his arm is in the rest of it. Thick, swirly black lines stretch from what's visible of his shoulder down to his elbow. ]

[ It's not something to his tastes, but it suits Felix strangely enough. He does wonder why he never got one before; they wear armor on most jobs now and there are things to cover marks, as Locus well knows. He has no right to ask, though. ]

What sort of work do you do that requires that gunk on your face?

Facial cream tester. Can you believe that bullshit? There are like a million women where I live. They couldn't have gotten any of them to do this? Nooooo.

Actually yeah, I can. What do you want it to do? Make the scarred skin softer, diminish the appearance of the scars, or both?

Softness isn't a particular concern.

Tell that to my ankle. The skin still pulls when I move.

Would you say you have dry skin or oily skin? Oh, and is it sensitive or not? Because covering up scars with hives isn't ideal.

I can see this is more involved than I imagined. I don't know what type of skin I have. I don't believe it's sensitive.

I know it's a lot and you'll probably have to go into a SHUSH to match skin tone, but I researched this a few weeks ago and that's the best for scar reduction and concealment. Use my employee discount.

[ A number follows. If Felix knew it was Locus he was talking to, he wouldn't have said that about going in to match tone. Everything on the list is tailored to Locus. ]

You're welcome. Let me know if it helps at all. I tried some of the moisturizer on my ankle and it made it a little better. I'm kind of erratic about applying it though.

Are you supposed to use that on your ankle?

Not the face stuff, but there's "body" lotion. I don't know what the difference is. Looks the same to me. I've been using that. Gunshots are a litle dicey but it's fairly recent so the skin didn't have a chance to really settle.

And lotion can get rid of gunshot scars?
